DUK – Ultrasonic Flow Meter
Ultrasonic Flowmeter combines temperature-compensated measurement for various media with IO-Link: a PC interface enables measurement of media-specific volume flows even at changing temperatures. Whether in the pharmaceutical industry, water treatment or food production: if non-conductive media flow in a chemical process, ultrasonic flow meters are usually installed for monitoring.
For monitoring, the measuring devices require short response times and a high degree of calibration freedom, otherwise incorrect metering or insufficient repeat accuracy will occur. The maintenance-free ultrasonic flowmeter type DUK with the newly developed C3T0 compact electronics from Kobold Messring GmbH provides a remedy here. Due to the extensive possibilities for on-site programming, the DUK is suitable for cross-industry use for diverse media.
The DUK flow meter stands out due to its advanced features and flexibility:
✔ Non-Intrusive Design: No moving parts ensure durability, extended service life, and minimal maintenance.
✔ High Accuracy: Delivers precise measurements even for small and fluctuating flow rates.
✔ Customizable for Specific Media: Configurable to accommodate various low-viscosity fluids.
✔ Independent of Viscosity Changes: Maintains accurate performance even as temperature-induced viscosity variations occur.
✔ In-Built Temperature Compensation: The integrated temperature sensor continuously measures the medium’s temperature, ensuring consistent accuracy by compensating for sound velocity changes.
✔ Compact Design: Ideal for applications with small flow ranges or tight spaces.
✔ Versatility: Serves a variety of industries, including automotive, robotics, and cooling systems.
The DUK flow meter is designed for low-viscosity fluids, including:
✔ Water
✔ Water-glycol mixtures
✔ Oils
✔ Ethanol
✔ Demineralized water
It operates effectively as long as the fluid permits ultrasonic wave propagation
The DUK flow meter offers several significant benefits:
✔ Wide Flow Range: Supports flow rates from 0.08 L/min to 630 L/min, suitable for fluctuating or low-flow conditions.
✔ Minimal Pressure Loss: Reduces energy consumption while maintaining system efficiency.
✔ High Repeatability: Ensures consistent and reliable performance over time.
✔ Independence from Fluid Properties: Performs accurately regardless of fluid density or temperature changes.
HPC – Coriolis Mass-Flow Meter
The Coriolis Mass Flowmeter HPC works according to the coriolis principle. Mass flow, density and temperature are being measured simultaneously.
The volume flow can be calculated from these measurements. HPC mass flow sensors are only available with remote transmitter.
For the measurement of very small flow rates it is common practice to use single pipe coriolis flowmeters. With the use of just one measuring pipe the influence of external interferences increases dramatically, often necessitating a costly decoupling. The HPC uses a dual bent pipe measuring system.
The sensor coils are not mounted on the measuring pipes anymore but between the pipes. This provides the sensor with a significantly noise-reduced and predictable dynamic behavior, capable of working at higher frequencies, thus further decoupling the sensor measurement from external vibrations.
With these characteristics the HPC Coriolis sensor is not only extremely accurate, but also particularly resistant against external interferences.
The sensor is very suited for very low flow measurements for all applications for nearly all liquids.
PITe – Magnetic-Inductive insertion IO-Link
An electrically conductive medium flowing through an orientated magnetic field in accordance to Faraday’s law of induction will induce a voltage proportional to the mean flow velocity rate and hence the volumetric flow.
A Magnetic Inductive Flow Meter consists of a tube through which a conductive liquid flows, a magnetic field coil and two electrodes. The induced voltage is processed by an evaluating electronics.
The units include a universal U-PACE electronics (Universal Precision and Control Electronics) which features two outputs arbitrarily configurable by the customer. The U-PACE electronics offers various diagnostic functions and the following features:
✔ Flow measurement
✔ Monitoring, dosing and transmitter function
✔ Dosing function with external control input
✔ Coloured, multi-parameter configurable TFT-display, rotatable in 90° steps
✔ Bidirectional measuring
✔ Intuitive setup menu via 4 optical touch keys
✔ 2 configurable outputs (pulse-/frequency-/alarm- and analogue output)
✔ Adaptation to internal pipe diameter by the customer
✔ Grand and resettable totaliser
